Contractor Marketing Campaign Success Story for a Tool Company

Ames Taping Tools hired O’Reilly-DePalma to rebuild awareness and preference for the brand’s offerings among wall and ceiling contractors.

O’Reilly-DePalma recommended a cost-efficient media buy and developed supporting creative to communicate the Ames value proposition to the contractor.

We also identified a narrow list of key influencers with whom we maintained regular contact on Ames’ behalf, resulting in earned media coverage in Architectural Record, Construction Dimensions and BUILDER magazine.  Not to mention two cover stories in Walls & Ceilings and Construction Dimensions Magazine that resulted from bylines pitched and produced by O’Reilly-DePalma.

Plumbing and heating distributor Aaron & Company stages a daylong event for contractors at Raritan Center. American Standard hired Tom Kraeutler of the Money Pit radio show to create video podcasts from the event, including the toilet relay and Speed Connect relay.

Local Brand Marketing - Indiana’s Ugliest Bathroom Contest

An Indiana plumbing showroom wanted to adapt one of American Standard’s national PR programs for local use. We created a logo, worked with the home show management to promote the contest, which resulted in a free radio-station promotion to support the contest and build excitement.

We pitched the local media to cover the contest and the winning project.    The media gods were smiling on us: the winning “ugly” bathroom was Peptol-Bismol pink with a giant pink flamingo mural.  The drawing was covered by the Indianapolis CBS affiliate (above)  and the winners where interviewed later on a local TV morning news show.
