Building Products Marketing Agency Recognized for Excellence in Feature Writing
O’Reilly/DePalma was recognized for its work publicizing the high-performing Champion 4 toilet from American Standard Brands last week at the annual Phoenix Awards Celebration of the Public Relations Society of America-Georgia Chapter (PRSA|GA).On Thursday, November 3, Agency Principal Nora DePalma and Account Manager Joel Williams accepted a Phoenix Award, the professional business association’s top honor, for its feature-writing work on behalf of the iconic plumbing manufacturer.
The award-winning project, which chronicled how Loews Hotels and Resorts achieved an 80 percent reduction in maintenance calls by installing the high-performance toilet, resulted in more than 40 million targeted media impressions in 2011, including AOL News, the USA Today travel blog, The Economist travel blog, Discovery Channel Online and MSNBC.
The project’s goal was to illustrate to hotel specifiers and buying influencers the excellent value offered by a premium performance toilet when measured against the cost of maintenance and guest dissatisfaction with toilet clogs and overflows.
“As an agency staffed by former journalists, it’s particularly rewarding to be recognized for our ability to develop a well-crafted product testimonial that compels readers to buy into a brand’s value proposition,” says DePalma. “To have our work recognized in a category that included established global communications firms is especially gratifying for a young agency such as ours.”
The Georgia PRSA Chapter, one of the nation’s largest chapters, hosts its Phoenix Award Competition annually to recognize programs and projects that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia. Project entries are evaluated based on planning/content, creativity/quality, technical excellence and results.
