| For the Media: ASTM Ecoflex Uponor Ecoflex® Pre-insulated Pipe Now Available in Three Different ASTM Sizes
Uponor, the global leader in PEX-a systems for radiant floor heating and cooling, plumbing and fire safety, now offers its Ecoflex® pre-insulated pipe in 1", 1¼" and 1½" ASTM sizes. ASTM Ecoflex features Uponor’s hePEX™ plus barrier tubing surrounded by closed-cell, PEX-foam insulation and covered by a waterproof, corrugated HDPE jacket, making it ideal for direct-burial applications. It is available in continuous lengths up to 600 feet, and uses either Uponor’s durable ProPEX® fittings or the new WIPEX™ dezincification-resistant (DZR) brass compression fittings for a watertight, leak-resistant system. “The unique properties of Ecoflex make it ideal for commercial and residential applications that require insulated underground piping,” says Mark Hudoba, senior product manager, Heating and Cooling, at Uponor. “These lightweight, flexible, pre-insulated pipes are strong enough to tackle any application, yet their flexibility allows them to install easily and quickly without the hassle of added connections required with rigid systems.” Ecoflex is available in single and twin configurations which feature one or two hePEX plus service pipes, respectively. The long coil lengths eliminate most buried connections and pipe joints, saving time and money while also reducing the risk of potential leak points. “Our goal at Uponor is to provide our building industry partners with products and systems that make their jobs easier and their projects more efficient,” says Hudoba. “Offering Ecoflex in ASTM sizes addresses our customers’ needs and continues our mission for superior system solutions.” Uponor Corporation is a leading supplier of plumbing, fire safety and radiant heating and cooling systems for the residential and commercial building markets across North America and Europe, and a market leader in municipal infrastructure pipe systems in the Nordic countries.
